The 2020-2021 Health and Human Rights Conference (HHRC) entitled “Navigating a
Colonial Institution: Medicine and Systemic Racism” will centre around systemic racism and its effects on the health of Black, Indigenous, immigrant, and other ethnic minority populations in Canada. HHRC 2020-2021 hopes to engage diverse community voices in addition to academic perspectives, with the hope that all attendees come away with new passions, motivations, and actionable ideas regarding human rights in their local and global communities.
This year's HHRC will be hosted virtually via Zoom, from January 16-17, 2021. The HHRC will build on components of previous years’ conferences, with increased emphasis on the accessibility, diversity, and the involvement of the Kingston community.
